Waterjet technology is a pioneering technology which offers many advantages in the manufacturing field and in the 3D-machining of high-performance materials. In order to use the waterjet as a milling tool in the future, comparable support methods for previewing the machining result during path planning are required. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to integrate the already developed support methods into CAM.

Your tasks

  • Optimization of an existing process model for waterjet material removal
  • Integration of the developed model into a CAD software (Rhino/ Grasshopper)
  • Development of a suitable test plan for validation
  • Measurement, preparation, documentation and evaluation of the results

Our requirements

  • You are studying mechanical engineering, physics, computer science or a comparable field of study
  • Good programming skills in MATLAB and C#
  • An independent and precise manner of working
  • Good language skills in German or English
