A modern engineer has access to unprecedented computational processing power. This processing power combined with Big Data offers an exciting opportunity to better understand the complex production processes through the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), e.g. in-situ tape winding of fiber-reinforced thermoplastic pipes and pressure vessels. The aim of this thesis is the development of a framework for an ensemble model that would accelerate AI-based optimization of the in-situ tape winding.

Your tasks

  • Derivation of the suitable AI-based approaches for the given use case
  • Further development of digital shadow framework for data homogenization and visualization
  • Development of an ensemble modelling framework based on TensorFlow and of non-linear optimization algorithms (e.g. evolutionary algorithm paradigm)

Our requirements

  • You are studying informatics, mathematics, mechanical engineering or a comparable subject
  • You have experience with AI and optimization algorithms
  • Very good knowledge of software development in Python or other programming language
  • Good language skills in English
