Representative for Computational Engineering Science

Computational Engineering Science (CES) is an interdisciplinary course of studies based on mechanical engineering, mathematics and computer science. The aim is to train an engineer who is competent in simulation technology.
Many engineering problems and tasks are very complex and therefore require sophisticated solution steps. The preferred method in this course of studies is, first to map the problem appropriately by means of mathematical modelling and then to solve the resulting systems of equations by numerical methods on the computer. The professional selection and evaluation of commercial software tools on the one hand and the independent development of helpful algorithms and software on the other hand is of great importance. In addition, a suitable computer structure must be selected so that the problem can be solved efficiently.
You can find more information about the Bachelor’s program in the student council’s first semester information. If you have any further questions, please contact our representative for CES.
